Open tryouts for the 09/10 Sharks U-12 Team

The Winslow Sharks formed in the Fall 2007 and play in the South Jersey Soccer league (SJSL). It is an all-year traveling U-11 boys team playing fall, winter indoor and spring seasons. In addition we play at least four tournaments during the competition year – Aug to July. 

THE COACHES:   Luis Pizarro is the general manager of the team and coach and has been coaching soccer for the Winslow Township Youth Soccer Association (WTYSA) since 2001.   Walt Justice is also a coach for the team and has been coaching for WTYSA since 2006. 

PRACTICE/TRAINING:    The Team practices Thursday nights from 6:30-8:00 PM at Volpa.

THE PLAYING COMMITMENT:   SJSL games are played Sundays with start times between 12:30 and 3:30, generally in the South Jersey area. The Fall season is 10 games, 5 home/5 away, and the Spring season is 8 games 4 home/4 away. The winter indoor season, played at Gaetano’s, Franklinville NJ, is 8 games and we anticipate that the games will be on Saturday.

WHAT TO EXPECT FOR THE 09/10 SEASON:   We will begin the season with an optional Team Camp early Aug and weekly practices will begin mid Aug. We will likely play at least four tournaments during the year- TBAA preseason August 29-30, Columbus Day Oct 10-11, Washington Twp Easter (Sat only) 2010, and Memorial Day 2010. We will likely play a Winter Indoor session.  We also form a team (optional) to play at the Wildwood Beach blast the last weekend in June 2010.
